"What should we wear?"

This question has been asked by literally everyone who has scheduled a photography session. We just photographed Kindra Laber from "Laber of Love" and her beautiful family. They all, of course, looked great - with coordinated colors and styles.

In our last post, I told you about April and how she is always so good at coordinating her family's wardrobe for photographs. But what about the rest of us - those who aren't naturally good at choosing clothes that look good in photographs? I recently asked Kindra if she would have any advice for my future clients about what to wear during a fall portrait session. She was kind enough to drop some expertise on us and I think it will help everyone planning a fall family shoot. Oh and for those of you who don't know Kindra, she has owned a successful boutique clothing store and is a popular fashion blogger.

Kindra explains: "When you schedule your family photos, one of the most important things to think about is what everyone is going to wear! For fall photos, warm tones are best, using two to three colors to work from. I like to start off with finding one of the children's outfits first, then go off of that outfit to decide the rest. Subtle prints, such as floral, stripes or plaids work great for photos! Color coordinating is key but no overdoing it as well. Don't be afraid to layer as well. Adding a scarf, vest or jacket is great! With all that being said, make sure to stay true to you and what best resembles your family! xoxo Kindra"
